Mechanical, physical-chemical treatment of wastewater
Wastewater treatment is a set of measures to remove impurities contained in municipal and industrial wastewater.
The purification process can be divided into the following stages:
- mechanical;
- physical-chemistry;
- biological.
Mechanical treatment of wastewater is a preparatory stage before a thorough cleaning of drains. Mechanical treatment objective is to extract from water suspended insoluble solids, fibers and coarse impurities.
The following equipment is recommended for use for mechanical cleaning:
- drum screen;
- belt filters.
Physico- chemical treatment is removal of fine particles and dissolved inorganic impurities, the destruction of organic and poorly oxidizable substances.
For physical-chemical treatment it is recommended to use the following equipment:
- pressure flotators;
- lamella clarifiers.
