Aeration is a process in which the air is closely contacting with the water (liquid), by passing air bubbles through the water column, i.e. by direct contact of water and air/ oxygen. Aeration is used to saturate the water with oxygen in order to oxidize, for example, iron, or remove dissolved gases such as carbon dioxide or hydrogen sulfide from water. Aeration is the basis for the process of wastewater treatment in biological wastewater treatment plants (aeration tanks, air filters, biofilters).

Surface aerators have proven to be highly efficient equipment with a simple construction and are an excellent alternative to a traditional or tubular membrane aeration systems.

Configuration options:
  • with elongated cone for deep reservoirs;
  • with a short cone for shallow reservoirs with underside protection;
  • trapezoidal suction device from the edges of the reservoir;
  • with a rotating separator for better mixing;
  • with overlappings to completely eliminate odors.

Areas of application:
  • treatment of domestic and industrial wastewater;
  • aeration of tanks, reservoirs, ponds with variable level;
  • intensification of biological treatment plants.

Advantages and features:
  • low investment costs of the installation due to the lack of blowers and air distribution ducts;
  • simple and reliable design made of stainless steel or composite materials;
  • high rate of oxygen intake, especially for highly polluted industrial wastewater aeration in shallow air tanks;
  • quick installation without emptying the tank;
  • maintenance (lubrication of bearings) takes only a few hours per year.

Surface aerators can be permanently installed or attached to the pontoons. Pontoons provide fast installation of aerators and simple change of their place of installation, for example, to move the clusters of mud at the bottom of the tank.

If aerators are connected to the oxygen sensor, the output power is automatically adjusted by aerator software providing continuous maintenance of desired oxygen level.

Precise control of the amount of dissolved oxygen in the water ensures optimum purification and energy saving.
